Links to blog posts are great for drip campaigns as well–especially if you can target that niche area with a market report or a topic that pertains to a niche group within your database. Just send a link of what you’ve written to the right people/group is a great way to build authority & trust is prospects’ eyes.

However, it is even more ingenious to post a ‘half-head’ photo to get more comments and people wondering how weird you really are?

You know that guy who hides his face behind the picket fence in the TV show Tool Time!

I explained that once in a post that the half face is symbolic.

The ‘half head’ is a common marketing photo that Teresa uses.

Is that an example of your improved photography skills?

I think 5 are fine, but shame on you for such a blogging faux pas. 🙂
Unfortunately, I still hear an echo when I post to my blog, although mybloglog does show a few of my friends and it seems to change regularly. Maybe I need to do a list of 5 things….post a list and they will come.

Great article. Having just started blogging I haven’t experienced most of your points…but I will someday. For a novice blogger, I’ve already experienced two other positive and unintended side effects of blogging though.
1) Business owners love seeing their name mentioned, even a quick review of places to eat where you mention a favorite dish or excellent service can win the hearts of a local business owner. Winning the favor of a few restaurant and shop owners in a tourist town will result in some great voluntary name dropping to customers when they ask about living there. Even if they’re not the type to drop names it makes asking to set your brochures in the corner a lot easier because you know you’ve provided them a service too.
2) You can’t always hold a town forum and tell everyone what your thoughts and beliefs on an issue of concern are, but if you write it down and they see that you are on their side, than you’ve accomplished the same thing. I’m not encouraging the discussion of politics or religioun on your website, because you’ll probably offend just as many or more people than you’ll gain, but if the community is in an uproar and you acknowledge that they have a reason to be and reitterate the points of their argument than you’ve become an “us” not a “them”…and no one likes “them”.
