In fact, it points to a complete revolution in the way Realtors interact with the home buyers and sellers of the future. This is a very valuable post and could lead to future success. It’s an impending market change. Especially in the coastal regions! lol

Much appreciated. Ever up in the Seattle area, stop by and we’ll do some ‘crabbin!’

But it’s real work to maintain a good one. I visited your blog and think you’re very much on track BTW. Twitter is a favorite
service of mine; you might try it and keep looking at other social media tools – podcasting, video, neighborhood wikis, etc.
Anything that demonstrates transparency and enables the audience to connect to you, your message and community. Robert Scoble today demonstrated a new function I really liked – the TwitterGram – tiny audio clips delivered via Twitter!
Second Life, as a defacto platform is a few years away, the social capital value is minimal today – I participate in / produce events and seminars in SL – all in expectation of it’s expanded use in the next generation of user. My suggestion is to get into SL today, join a few groups like OpenMLS, International Sales Professionals Association or InterReality Advocates (yes, I’m in all of them, founded two of them – use ‘Search / Groups’ to find them; free to join) and get used to what the environment can provide – we’re producing RL training for presentation in SL and event-based participation in SL is where I see the first wave of adoption for most of us.
Great questions Sparky – keep ’em coming!

Which ones have you found to be indispensible? Twitter is an interesting, nearly ‘real-time’ walking daytimer. I looked at 2nd Life, but my current life is much too time consuming for me to have ‘another’ life!

When you visit my site you’ll see other components of the Agent2.0 model and how it has been laid out so far. The beauty of the Internet / Web2.0 and how it fits the real estate community is that little of it needs to be invented – it does however need integration and connection to a purpose.
I am not certain how you wish to explore the idea of keeping your clients updated, but the immediate idea is the use of an RSS feed from the single-house website you will build when you sign them to a listing contract. You are setting up single-house websites aren’t you? – 😉
If you are thinking some other kind of connection, send me an email and I’m happy to open the dialog.

I find many who are discussing such shifts from a more ‘acadmic’ view, but fail to offer substative ‘practical’ application. As one who is obviously vested within our core business, can you, or have you, discussed ways of implementing current or emerging technologies to better manage/share data with our clients? Also, have you written anything that more fully explains Agent 2.0 and compares it against previous models? Thanks!

Liek a number of people, I am not entirely sure where it’ll go; some big name analysts are suggesting it’ll expand dramatically within the next few years.
My projects there have to do with proving business models within the community and leveraging the rich media possible for task like training; right now working on a sales training venue with the International Associztion of Sales Professionals – looks for me in SL as ‘Estaban Graves’; Grand opening of the facility is in the next few weeks.

The model gets better with interaction.

I’ve found that one of my first questions I ask new walk-in customers is “do you have a computer?” and “do you use the internet?”. I get more “No’s” than you’d think, and those customers require a completely different approach. So don’t thow all your old tricks out the door quite yet, give it another few years and maybe everyone will be on board with this “new fangled internet device”.
