Also, this is the preferred method of communication for many of our clients. Sending tweets and demonstrating our expertise with our blogs keep us in the game.

I think it’s funny reading all of the different slogans we real estate agents come up with. Like you said though, where is the proof? How do they get those slogans? Blogging is an excellent way to prove your worth, and your expertise as an agent.

You’re someone who is likely to answer email and to look for listings online, etc. At Long & Foster real estate (www.longandfoster.com), agents are encouraged to stay ahead of the curve, technologically speaking. After all, there’s no doubt that the Internet is integral to being a successful agent. If you’re not using it – or don’t know how to use it – you’ll only have yourself to blame when you become obsolete.

Actually blogging often about whatever your profession is could make you more of an expert in whatever field you are in. It forces you to learn more about what you are suppose to be an expert at.

Real estate agents are supposed to be sales people. Sales people go out and prospect for business all day. That means they should be looking for buyers and sellers everyday. There is nothing wrong with taking an hour out of your day to write your daily blog, but to spend more than an hour a day, I don’t think you are doing your clients justice. The highest paid real estate agents are not the best bloggers they are the best prospectors. They look for new business everyday.

Let’s face it; most people don’t just trust real estate agents. You have to earn their trust and a blog, if done well, can help do this. But first you have to be seen. Karl Berger of Pensacola Real Estate News has done both very successfully.
