This is an interesting post, but looking through 4 years worth of comments is a more interesting effect. One interesting point was that blocking ads only works if you know how to do it – I think banking on your audience being less tech savvy than you want them to be might be a bad idea any year.

I have to add that writing for a searchbot will make your reading look stupid; so even if you do get more traffic… they’re think you’re a goof and go buy from someone else. Which defeats the whole point of it, right?

We have it in small text from at bottom but may remove it, just a test. I wonder if Google gives better search results with its adsense clients?

I would agree that the average agent does not get enough traffic to support any real substantial adsense income but for web savvy agents that are getting traffic to their site, I would think that an addition passive income model of google ads would benefit their bottom line. Thanks for taking the time write the article it was informative…I hope it does not scare too many agents away from another form of potential income.

I have tried Ad Sense with various sites (made $30 a month a couple of times) and have to agree it’s not worth losing a visitor to a competitor. You may have made .03 for that click, but lost possibly thousands. If you had thousands of visitors a day? Probably worth adding.

Adblock only words if you install it. not all FF users have this or even know about it. well i gues its better to remove it from your niche because of possible trouble. But most niches are ok with it. but a great read 🙂

This is some great information, not only for blogging but for all of your advertising. Clients won’t take you seriously if you’re always trying to “pass the buck” to advertising partners, so be careful and control your own destiny.
More and more, we’re looking for pure advertising rather than gimmicky advertising. Putting your face on take-out menus and mailing out baking recipes is fine; if you’re a chef! But for a real estate agent, you should be advertising real estate.
